Matthew Stafford Trade to 49ers

Prior to the Rams trade, Matthew Stafford discusses the club he believed he was being dealt to.

Matthew Stafford, a quarterback, was acquired by the Los Angeles Rams in a trade with the Detroit Lions prior to the 2021 season.

Of course, both parties gained from that transaction, as the Rams were able to replace Jared Goff with Stafford.

Stafford claims that his trade to the Rams was not what he had expected to happen, though.

He recently discussed the team he first believed he would be moved to on Jalen Ramsey's "Straight Off the Press" podcast.

"Did I believe I would visit the Los Angeles Rams? That was the last team I ever saw myself supporting, "said Stafford. I had assumed I would be in San Francisco, which is across the water.

It is impossible to predict how that trade deal would have appeared for the Lions.

It may have focused on Jimmy Garoppolo, the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, or any number of other options.
