Cortez Masto trails in poll of key Nevada Senate race

In her reelection campaign, senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) is losing her Republican challenger,

Adam Laxalt, by two points, according to a recent CNN poll released on Thursday.

According to the poll, 48 percent of likely voters said they prefer Laxalt with just over four weeks before election day, while 46 percent said they support Cortez Masto.

However, Cortez Masto has a 47 percent to 44 percent advantage against Laxalt among all registered voters surveyed.

According to the poll, Cortez Masto was also generally more well-liked than her Republican rival.

The incumbent senator was viewed favourably by 45 percent of both likely and registered voters, as opposed to Laxalt,

who was viewed favourably by 39 percent of likely voters and 35 percent of registered voters.

The poll also indicated that the contests for secretary of state and governor of Nevada were still close.
